A Great Weekend of FUN!

Last weekend was a blast!!!!!!!!

Movie night, Rock N' Roll & Karaoke Bowling and Sunday, the children & I went with our friend Andy and his daughter Kayla, to Fort Worden State Park in Port Townsend, Washington.

In 1897 the fort was built from what was originally a coastal military installation, and remained in operation until 1953. It was purchased in 1955 by the Washington State Parks system and turned into a fabulous 434 acre recreational site with two miles of coastline. During the self guided tour around the park, all ages enjoy seeing the barracks, officer quarters, and underground artillery bunkers. And for our Movie buffs, you will recognize the grounds as "Fort Ranier Naval Training Base" from the 1982 Richard Gere movie An Officer and a Gentleman.

We hiked up the hillside to the top bunkers, where the kids took off running. Up and down ladders, playing hide n' seek in the bunkers, touring the other property, running through tunnels as your footsteps echo'd behind them.

Enjoy the pictures.
